The national mortgage lender Vida Homeloans has revealed its appointment of a new Key Account Manager covering the North of England, with Darren Cunliffe taking up this role.
Cunliffe will be able to draw on many years of industry experience in his new capacity. He has worked in business development management and mortgage advisor roles before, so he has a significant degree of awareness of the intermediary part of the UK mortgage sector. His most recent position was with Nationwide Building Society, where he served as one of its Building Development Managers for close to a decade.
As part of his remit at Vida Homeloans, he will be working alongside Andy Alvarez, the company’s National Sales Manager, who will be directly in charge of him.
Speaking to Mortgage Strategy after the recruitment of Cunliffe was confirmed, the Distribution Director for Vida, Richard Tugwell, stated that:
“I am pleased to welcome Darren into our growing team of key account managers. He brings a wealth of knowledge of the intermediary market and a raft of great contacts in the industry.”
Tugwell then went on to say that the appointment would enable Vida to build stronger working relationships with mortgage advisors.
It is the second new hire announced by the lender, following the arrival of Sophie Burton as Business Development Manager.
The North West in particular is a thriving part of the UK for the mortgage sector, with would-be advisors seeking out CeMAP courses in Liverpool and other parts of this region to capitalise on that.
